A Letter from Michael

Friends Seminary is back for our 237th year! Pictured here are the newest additions to the Friends team.

Dear Friends,

A very warm welcome from 16th Street to wherever you are reading this month’s alumni newsletter. If you were fortunate enough to escape the summer heatwave and travel to a cooler climate, I am truly envious! In all seriousness, it is my hope that you were able to enjoy your summer while spending time with family and friends. Often, going for a walk, visiting new places or simply taking time to relax in silence or read a great book are things we take for granted.

In July, I traveled to Madison, Wisconsin to attend a conference for new professionals working in Advancement and Alumni Relations. I was very thankful to be able to share with my peers some of the wonderful things that Friends does throughout the year, and during Reunion in particular. While our alumni community is small in comparison to the colleges and universities that were represented at the conference, it felt really good to see that Friends’ efforts toward engagement and creating events like faculty seminars, regional gatherings and trivia for our alumni are on par with and even more creative than what some larger higher education institutions are doing.

As we prepare to welcome our students back, I encourage you to reach out to me often—whenever there is a need for my assistance or even just to say hello.

In friendship,

Michael Mudho

Associate Director of Advancement for Alumni Relations
