Helen Trapasso passed away on July 10, 2023 in Monroe, North Carolina at the age of 96 with her children by her side. Beloved mother of Steve Trapasso, Rosemarie Thompson, Robert Trapasso, Patricia Trapasso, and Elaine Trapasso. Dear mother-in-law to Maria, Roy and Barbara. Cherished grandmother to Maria and the late James Bianco, Joseph and Eric Merckling, Melissa and Lauren Trapasso. Great-grandmother of Amy, Emma, Alivia, Annabelle, Scarlett, Juliette, and Austin.
Born and raised in Brooklyn, New York, Helen moved to Staten Island in 1995. She recently moved to North Carolina to be closer to her children.
Helen started working full-time for Adelphi Academy in 1959. In 1981 she started working as the secretary to the Head Master at Friends Seminary in Manhattan. She retired in 1994. She was a frequent communicant at Our Lady Star of the Sea and Holy Child R.C. church on Staten Island.
Helen was a proud member of the Mount Loretto Friendship Center where she had many friends, worked on their senior newsletter, and helped with many events over the years. Helen was a volunteer at Mount Loretto, Richmond University Medical Center, and R.S.V.P./Serve where she received recognition awards for her dedicated and long-standing service.
