With sadness, we report the passing of Jeffrey Davidson ’54,

Jeffrey R. Davidson, class of '54, died in New York on October 14, 2025 after a long illness. He had spent most of his adult life living in Italy.
After teaching at the Overseas School of Rome he went on to a career first as a journalist, then as a supervisor of foreign versions of American films, mainly for Sony Pictures. Over four decades, he was responsible for overseeing the quality of hundreds of movies dubbed into many European languages. He was a fluent speaker of French, German, Italian and Spanish. He is survived by his wife Linda, sons Justin and Christopher, and by two grandchildren, Milo and Sarah. He vividly remembered his time at Friends and often talked about his teachers and classmates; and Jeff's language and drama-related skills were honed and grounded in experiences at Friends. A gathering to celebrate Jeff's life is being planned for the Fall.
