With sadness, we report the passing of Pamela Rossbach '50.

Rossbach--Pamela van Egmond Schilthuis. Rossbach, Pamela van Egmond Schilthuis (90) died peacefully in North Haven, Sag Harbor NY on December 10, 2022. Born April 10, 1932, in Doctors Hospital in Manhattan, daughter of Willem Schilthuis and Sally Kavanagh, she grew up in Westport CT, and near Washington Square where she attended Friends Seminary and The Chapin School. She studied history at Mount Holyoke and pursued a Master's Degree in Medieval Studies at Columbia. She met her husband-to-be Laurence Bache Rossbach Jr. in Rome and was married in 1954. She launched her design business, To Match, in the 1960s, designing professional accessories for women in imported fabrics and papers. Pamela also designed a home overlooking Noyac Bay in 1974 to which many people knew they could come for a good talk, a book club meeting, or a rousing political discussion. An artist, educator, and active Democrat, Pamela was also a great cook, an intrepid traveler, and a devoted mother to son Peter and daughter Janet, and grandmother to William and Nina. A festival of joy will be held at her home in Spring 2023. Memorial contributions can be made to the John Jermain Library in Sag Harbor.
