With sadness, we report the passing of Thomas Morley '74.

Age 66, watercolor artist and store manager, died in St. Paul on September 20, 2023. Son of Anthony Morley and Jane Augustine, Tom was born in New York City on October 13, 1956. He grew up in St. Louis, Missouri and Manhattan before coming to the Twin Cities as a teenager. Tom was a watercolor artist, jazz aficionado, fisherman, journalist, cab driver, friend, brother, son, husband, Republican party activist, and avid frisbee golfer. He was a managing editor at the Asian American Press in St. Paul in the 1990s. He contributed to developing the newspaper’s community service mission. His writing included coverage of art, music and feature stories. Tom went on to work as a copy aide and later circulation district manager at the St. Paul Pioneer Press. Most recently he was the manager of Speedway convenience stores in and around the Twin Cities. He was preceded in death by his wife, Michelle Phuong Vu, who died prematurely of cancer in 1991. He is survived by his parents — Anthony Morley and Ruth Anne Olson, Jane Augustine and Michael Heller — and siblings Meg, Jeff, Patrick, Kent, Lloyd, Janette, and by many nieces and nephews.
