On Friday, February 28, the Alumni Council held an Alumni gathering for alumni in New York City. The event was hosted by Alumni Council member Jocelyn Anker '87. The evening was lovely with attendees represented by classes from 1972 through 2020. The purpose of the gathering was to build community amongst alumni living in the city and learn more about the school from Alumni Council members.
Black History Month
This Black History Month, the CPEJ office collaborated with all three divisions to ensure that our campus was alive with meaningful celebrations and educational experiences that honored the legacy of Black leaders, innovators, and changemakers. Students and faculty engaged deeply in this month’s programming, participating in thought-provoking classroom discussions and collaborative, cross-divisional activities.
A highlight of the month was the National African American Read-In, where nearly 200 community members across divisions came together to share and celebrate the powerful voices of Black authors. PADIC also hosted a vibrant African Diaspora Dinner, fostering connection and joy. To close out the month, CPEJ collaborated with the Black Culture Club and organized a panel called “Rooted in Excellence: HBCU Graduates & Greek Life Stories.” Students learned about how HBCUs and Black Greek life foster academic excellence, community engagement and strong networks that expand beyond college. The panel was followed by a special soul food lunch hosted by CPEJ and BCC where the entire community was welcomed.
